7/28/2023 - Eastern Point Beach

 After getting dinner, we decided to find a different place to watch the sunset as the streets surrounding Stonington Point were just too narrow for me to have the desire to venture back.  I certainly can't say we were disappointed at all.  Wonderful evening watching the ferries coming in and out of the port.  Probably would have gotten more pictures, but I wasn't paying attention to the battery level and it died shortly after we arrived.  Luckily, I carry the charger in my bag so was able to get enough of a charge to get more pictures.

7/28/2023 - Stonington Point

After our visit to the lighthouse, we decided to stay on the point for a while as the breeze was wonderfully cool.  Just watching the boats and birds was very relaxing and enjoyable.  As we had no real plan for the trip, this was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

7/28/2023 - Stonington Lighthouse

We went to Connecticut for a few days.  My wife is fascinated with lighthouses so we went to visit one since it was near where we were staying.  No pictures from inside as it was a rather small space and nothing would have come out right.  Unfortunately for us, someone apparently broke the railing so we couldn't go in the tower.  The streets to get there are horribly narrow!

7/25/2023 - Explosion Off I-81

On my way through Virginia, I witnessed a huge fireball.  Traffic slowed drastically so I took a couple of quick shots with my phone.  I was roughly 1/2 mile from the actual explosion when I took these.  Turns out it was a gas line explosion.  It was to the west of the southbound lane but I could feel the heat when I passed in the northbound lane through the window.  When I got there, the base was roughly 100 feet in diameter!
