10/8/2022 - Watkins Glen State Park

We finally made it down to Watkins Glen to check out the gorge.  This is a large post, but it is just a small sample of the beautiful views along the way.  I highly recommend you visit if you are in the area.  Be forewarned though, there are a lot of steps on this trail (over 800!).  There is a shuttle that runs between the upper section of the park and the lower section increasing your options.  You can walk the trail from bottom to top, top to bottom (as we did), or go both directions.  Be warned, there is what is called "Jacob's Ladder" near the top.  I believe it is over 200 steps.  Next time I visit, I may start from the bottom then turn around at the bottom of those steps.

This is another where I don't understand the terminology used.  This is really a reservoir though without researching, it may be that the damn only made it deeper.  Some spectacular views though!

9/30/2022 - Third Stop, Lake Durant

I'm not truly sure of the difference between a lake and a pond, but this gave me more of a pond vibe.  No houses along the shoreline and seemed to be rather shallow.  Still, some nice views though and understandable as to why New York put a "scenic view" pull-off in.

9/30/2022 - Second Stop, Boat Launch on Seventh Lake

As we continued our ride, we stopped at a boat launch because we were thinking the view would be much better than the overlooks along the way.  As I got the camera out, a sea plane was beginning it's take-off way down the lake.  With such a short zoom at the time, I didn't bother with any of the initial pictures as you couldn't see it until it was in the air.  A beautiful bonus was across the road where there was a little pond with an amazing view.
