2/12/2023 - A Walk in the Woods at My In-Laws

Following the new "it is my blog ad I'll do what I want" mantra, I decided this is the correct time to post something, today are the services for my late father in-law.  My in-laws have an old farm (been in my father in-law's family since the late 1800's) so I got out for a little walk through the woods.  No location as this is private property.  There are quite a few pictures as I found a lot of interesting things along the way and it was the first real use of my 55-250mm lens.

I hope that someone may be able to identify the farm equipment and the birds...

9/18/2022 - Sunrise over the Jeep

I don't often get outside to catch the sunrise, but I was meeting a friend for a round of golf at the Links at Caughdenoy Creek.  After seeing this now, I wish I would have walked around the Jeep to get a panorama.  Can't change that, but I still think this was a beautiful view.

Site Notes: This course was, at one point, the farm my wife's aunt and uncle owned and operated.

9/3/2022 - Seneca Mills Falls

Another example of a place I need to return to.  On the long exposure, I had to do some serious editing because it was severely overexposed.  I think it still came out fairly well.  I was going to use the sky replacement feature in Photoshop but I thought it gave it a really fake look.  I decided that since it was a fairly overcast day (see the first photo), it wasn't really worth it.

Parking Location: ///inclination.learned.buttons
Site Notes: This is mostly accessible, the last 2 photos are from a bench right next to the smooth trail.

8/20/2022 - Fillmore Glenn State Park

Checked out a state park that I was not aware existed.  Actually quite a beautiful little area.  I do need to get back since I've learned so much about the camera and photography in general.  I don't recall why I took so few pictures with the Canon though.  Very limited accessibility here as you may expect of something that follows a gorge.

Parking Location: ///rooster.percentages.tower
Site Notes: Beautiful walk, perfect for a hot day as the gorge is cool from all the shade.

Camera: Google Pixel 6
Notes: They block off the creek to make a swimming area.

8/13/2022 - Trip to OK Slip Falls

Beautiful day for a ride on the motorcycle so I was looking for some falls that I hadn't been to yet and this came up.  A quick search for the location on Google Maps showed it was about a 2 hour ride and the post I read claimed it was a 3 hour roundtrip easy hike.  Turned out to be a 3 hour ride, over an hour and a half hike out, and over 2 hour return hike!  I certainly wouldn't have minded at all except there was so little water flowing over, it wasn't worth attempting to climb down the gorge trail.  I may have even gone down there if I wasn't alone...

Parking Location (The Falls): ///assumptions.whisper.arrows
Site Notes: There are several locations you can hike to from this parking lot.  All require a short walk along NY Route 28 to the trailhead.  Definitely not accessible in any fashion.  Very peaceful hike and not overly difficult though there is a lot of elevation change along the way.
